Great to meet you!

Hello and Welcome! I began my LCSW career as a therapist at the University Neuropsychiatric Institute (now Huntsman Mental Health Institute, or HMHI) and several Employee Assistant Programs (EAP’s) before opening my own private practice.

With a strong foundation in diagnosing and treating acute mental illnesses, I now focus primarily on helping clients facing less severe but impactful mental health issues. My areas of specialization include depression, anxiety, trauma, self-esteem, relationship challenges, anger management, and childhood-related problems and primarily work with adults and older adolescents.

Though it may not be immediately visible, I bring extensive experience working with diverse populations, including LGBTQIA+, BIPOC, neurodivergent (ND), and neurotypical (NT) individuals. I openly invite questions and conversations around these topics, emphasizing my inclusive and affirming approach.

Beyond my clinical work, I am passionate about the outdoors and enjoy Utah’s rich natural offerings, including hiking, camping, scuba diving, skiing, sailing, and climbing. A dedicated traveler, I’ve visited approximately 75 countries, with extended stays in the majority of them. My extroverted nature fuels a deep curiosity about people and their unique life experiences.

My approach to therapy

Therapy is about understanding the individual you are! Many clients feel trapped by painful thoughts, emotions, relationships, or past experiences. I offer a personalized, integrative approach—tailoring treatment to you, not just your symptoms. I often blend evidence-based modalities such as DBT for symptom relief, CBT for deeper change, attachment-based models for insight, and solution-focused therapies for efficiency. My goal is for you to leave your first session feeling hopeful and empowered for taking the first step to your well-being.

What you can expect from me

The most important element of therapy is ensuring you, my client, feel heard and understood throughout our sessions. Building a strong therapeutic relationship from the start is key to fostering growth and lasting change. I draw upon Carl Rogers’ evidence-based Client-Centered Therapy, where the bond we form is crucial to your progress. You will be listened to, understood, and supported in crafting a plan that aligns with your unique needs and values, addressing the reasons that brought you to therapy.

Therapy should be challenging and uplifting, sparking curiosity and inspiring you to discover more about yourself. Together, we’ll focus on your strengths and resilience, incorporating them into a personalized treatment plan that leads to meaningful, lasting outcomes.

I look forward to our first session! Please visit my calendar to schedule your appointment, and let’s begin your journey toward well-being.
