Hi, my name is Shelly Kessinger, LPC. I have been a licensed professional counselor for 16 years. I graduated from UT Austin with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, and I received my Masters of Education in Counseling from the University of Houston. I specialize in communication, relationships, and emotional connection.
I would describe myself as professional and friendly. As a counselor, I really work to get to the root of the issue. I am very caring and warm, but I do always want to challenge my clients (respectfully!). Overall, I am open-minded, warm, and kind.
In the first session, I just want to get to know you. I may ask questions on your history, your patterns, your presenting problem, and your current status. I will aim to start working on solutions, and I do want to know your goals and what you want to get out of counseling.
