Great to meet you!

Let me introduce myself!

I have been in the social work field for over 30 years, serving several different populations. I began working with survivors of domestic violence early in my social work career. Then, I worked with seniors facing changes in daily functioning; they often were fearful of losing their independence and lifestyles. I supported their family members, who were trying to navigate these changes logistically while grieving the losses in their loved one's functioning or cognition. Currently, I work with students in the university setting.

Each client demographic has shown me that life presents us with different challenges at different stages of life, and can be so overwhelming that we can find ourselves paralyzed, not knowing in which way to turn.

Therapy can provide you with direction; your belief systems, your support systems and your strengths, as the backdrop for us to determine the best path forward for you. I would love to walk with you a while and help you find your best path to the life you want.

My approach to therapy

I am goal oriented and client centered; meaning that I want you to be in charge of the direction of our time together and my intent is to keep us focused on the goals that you determine. My approach is founded on the belief that all of us have the ability to heal and grow when in a warm and accepting environment. Humans are resilient creatures and I believe you have strengths and skills that you may not have fully realized and developed.

What you can expect from me

I will answer any questions you may have about therapy and ask you about your goals, your top 3 issues and where you want to start. I will do a thorough social history and intake to better guide me in the direction you need and want.
