I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, receiving my Masters in Social Work from Florida State University. I have worked with various populations and have a diverse background including people with trauma, crisis, depression, anxiety, grief and loss and relationship problems.
I very much like a positive and direct approach to therapy. I will offer my clients challenges to move them forward in their goals. I think it is important to find balance in your life and it starts with improving self esteem and good self care. I like the person centered approach, meaning you are in charge. We will go at your speed and things should always be comfortable for you during therapy.
I want my clients to feel like they have accomplished their goals so they can then move on with their life. I want them to feel comfortable confiding in me when they may not have been able to confide in anyone else. I believe in a trust based relationship and going at your pace as you are comfortable. Mostly, clients tell me they feel like they have chatted with a friend but realize there has been growth in the conversation. To me, that is a win and it is as it should be.
