Great to meet you!

Reaching out for support takes strength, and I want to honor the courage it took to get here. Taking that first step can be one of the hardest parts of the journey.

I am Sheonna Bartley, a Board-Certified Psychiatric–Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC), and I am dedicated to providing compassionate, person-centered mental health care to individuals across the lifespan. My background in nursing has deeply shaped how I practice—I believe that empathy, respect, and genuine human connection are just as important as clinical expertise.

I provide evidence-based treatment for concerns such as depression, anxiety, ADHD, mood disorders, and trauma-related challenges. I also have a strong passion for working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) and those from underserved communities, and I am committed to advocating for equitable access to high-quality mental health care. My goal is to ensure every person feels seen, heard, and valued throughout their care.

My approach to therapy

My approach is grounded in empathy, collaboration, and respect. I believe effective mental health care begins with truly listening and understanding each person’s unique story, values, and goals. Rather than rushing to solutions, I take time to build trust and develop a treatment plan that feels personalized, supportive, and empowering.

Care may include medication management, lifestyle support, coping strategies, or a combination of approaches, depending on what best fits your needs. I work alongside my clients every step of the way, checking in regularly, making thoughtful adjustments, and ensuring that care feels collaborative rather than clinical. Progress takes time, and I strive to support each individual with patience, honesty, and compassion.

What you can expect from me

Your first session is a comprehensive, one-hour appointment focused on getting to know you in a calm, supportive, and judgment-free environment. We’ll talk about what brought you in, your personal history, current challenges, and your goals for care. I’ll also ask about past experiences with therapy, medications, and life stressors to gain a full picture of your needs.

There is no pressure to share more than you’re comfortable with. We move at your pace, with the priority being safety, trust, and understanding. By the end of the session, we’ll begin outlining a personalized plan that aligns with your comfort level and overall well-being. My hope is that you leave feeling supported, understood, and a little more hopeful about the path ahead.
