Sheridan Meriwether

I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Certified Sex Offender Treatment Provider specializing in therapy for children and youth. I earned both my Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Social Work from Delaware State University, building a strong foundation for the diverse clinical work I've pursued throughout my career.

My background spans a wide range of settings — from wrap-around (intensive in-home) therapy and therapeutic foster care case management to domestic violence advocacy and community-based supervision. These experiences have shaped me into a clinician who meets clients where they are, with both compassion and adaptability.

I currently serve as a part-time outpatient clinician with Blakey Weaver Counseling Center in Virginia, where I continue to bring that same commitment to meaningful, personalized care.

With over seven years of outpatient experience, I specialize in trauma-informed care. I draw on person-centered, strengths-based, and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) approaches to help individuals and families heal and thrive.

My goal as a therapist is to create a safe and welcoming space where clients feel heard, supported, and empowered to achieve the healing and personal growth they seek.
