Sherman Brown

I'm Sherman Brown, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) serving adults across Florida through telehealth. I specialize in depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, trauma, substance use, and men's mental health. As a clinical mental health therapist, I understand the particular weight that comes with seeking help and the cognitive distortions that may keep one from getting help --Catastrophizing: Seeing only the worst possible outcomes of a situation. My clients often come to me having tried everything else, or feeling like therapy 'isn't for them.' I aim to change that experience from the first session.

I pull from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Trauma-Focused CBT, and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) depending on what you're working through. My style is collaborative — I'll challenge you when it's useful, and meet you where you are when it isn't. I believe therapy should feel like a working partnership, not a lecture. I'm direct, I respect your time, and I won't make you feel like a diagnosis.

We'll spend the first session getting clear on what brought you in and what you actually want to change — not just a history intake, but a real conversation about your goals. You don't have to have it all figured out. By the end, you'll have a sense of what we'll be working on and why. I want you to leave feeling like the time was worth it, not wondering what comes next.
