Great to meet you!

I'm Sherri, a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner passionate about providing integrated care for complex mental health challenges, including personality disorders, PTSD and trauma, schizophrenia and psychosis disorders, substance use disorders, ADHD, depression, anxiety, panic disorders, mood disorders, and bipolar conditions. My practice recognizes these conditions are interconnected in ways requiring specialized understanding.

I chose these specializations because I understand how trauma influences personality development, how ADHD complicates substance use recovery, how psychotic symptoms emerge during extreme stress, and how these complex interactions require providers who see the complete picture. Whether you're in recovery while managing other conditions, dealing with personality patterns that developed as survival mechanisms, or navigating multiple diagnoses, I bring the expertise needed for comprehensive care.

My approach emphasizes evidence-based treatments combined with the healing power of being truly understood. I integrate medication management with therapeutic interventions tailored to your unique presentation. I recognize that seeking help for stigmatized conditions like personality disorders or psychosis takes tremendous courage, especially after negative experiences with providers. I create a therapeutic space where you can explore your experiences without judgment or shame, and where your insights about your own mental health are valued.

Expect thorough assessment, personalized treatment planning, and consistent support throughout our work together. I'm focused on helping you build resilience, develop effective coping strategies, and create a fulfilling life that honors your goals and values.

I offer both in-person and telehealth appointments to meet your scheduling needs and provide accessible, quality psychiatric care.

My approach to therapy

I believe everyone deserves exceptional, compassionate mental health care that honors their dignity and supports their wellness. My practice is rooted in authentic connection, clinical expertise, and deep respect for your autonomy and lived experience. I work intentionally to build a partnership where you feel truly understood, supported, and empowered, because the caring relationship itself is transformative.

I practice holistic, integrative psychiatry that attends to mind, body, and spirit. This means looking not only at psychiatric symptoms but also at how physical health, relationships, work, lifestyle, and sense of purpose shape your overall wellbeing. I stay current with advances in psychiatric medicine while equally valuing the insight that comes from genuinely knowing the person in front of me. No two individuals are alike, and your care will always reflect the full complexity of who you are.

When it comes to care planning, I offer recommendations grounded in expertise while deeply honoring your right to make informed decisions. I explain options thoroughly, discuss benefits and risks with transparency, and fully support the choices you make. I'm skilled in medication management and prescribe when clinically indicated, while remaining equally committed to lifestyle modifications and skill-building that promote sustainable wellness for the long term.

I practice with humility and openness, understanding that learning never ends. I welcome your questions and sincerely value your perspective on what works for you.

I'm here to provide expert, compassionate guidance as you pursue healing, growth, and the life you deserve. Your wellbeing isn't simply my profession, it's my purpose, and it's a privilege to walk alongside you as you reclaim your health, your hope, and your life. Every person who entrusts me with their care reminds me why this work is so profoundly meaningful. That trust is something I carry into every appointment.

What you can expect from me

Expect your first appointment to be thorough, compassionate, and genuinely empowering. We will look at every factor influencing your mental health, beginning with your primary concerns — what weighs on you most and what outcomes you are striving toward.

We will review your symptoms: emotional experiences such as persistent sadness, ongoing worry, or overwhelming fear; cognitive patterns like racing thoughts or trouble maintaining focus; physical signs including exhaustion or bodily tension; and behavioral changes such as social withdrawal or increasing restlessness. I will want to learn how long these have been present, what relieves or worsens them, and how they are affecting your work, relationships, and sense of self.

Your psychiatric history is essential. I will ask about diagnoses, treatments, and medications you have previously tried. Family mental health background is equally important, as hereditary factors play a significant role in how you may respond to medication.

We will go over your medical history, current conditions, active prescriptions, supplements, and known allergies, forming the complete picture needed for sound recommendations.

Lifestyle factors carry real significance, so we will discuss sleep quality, exercise, eating habits, stress management, and substance use. I will also explore psychosocial dimensions: trauma history, meaningful losses, current stressors, workplace dynamics, relationship patterns, and the support systems surrounding you.

If appropriate, I will walk you through suitable options — how they work, practical timelines for improvement, possible side effects, and our method for tracking progress.

You will leave feeling heard, validated, and hopeful, with a clear understanding of next steps and a personalized plan created exclusively for you. I look forward to being a trusted partner in your path toward lasting wellness and fulfillment.
