I have been in practice for over thirty years. I bring both experience and a variety of approaches to my humanistic practice. I have worked in the US and in Europe treating trauma, Intellectual disabilities and relationship issues. I have two Master degrees. One in Special Education and assessment and a second in Clinical Psychology. My Ph.D., is in Clinical Psychology. I worked in New York for over 6 weeks during 911 and continue to do onsite crisis work.
My approach to therapy is one of creating a safe and humanistic relationship. I offer a variety of modalities including Cognitive Behavioral, EMDR, and pragmatic problem solving. Particularly useful is my focus on Communication techniques. My approach is client centered and therefore I offer a variety of modalities.
Our first session will include a coverage of ethical and legal issues followed by a discussion of the clients needs and goals for their ongoing treatment. In general, the first session is a time for the client to assess if my approach feels safe and appropriate for their needs.
