Great to meet you!

Hello, I’m Dr. Shielah DeBlanc, a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), National Certified Counselor (NCC), and Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP). I hold a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and a Doctorate in Developmental Psychology, and I bring both clinical expertise and extensive leadership experience in behavioral health and human services to my work with clients. I have experience supporting adults facing stress, anxiety, depression, trauma, and life transitions, helping them develop practical tools to navigate challenges and achieve meaningful personal growth. I believe therapy works best when clients feel genuinely seen, heard, and supported, and I strive to create a warm, nonjudgmental environment where healing and change can occur. My goal is to partner with you in building resilience, increasing self-awareness, and creating a more fulfilling life.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is collaborative, client-centered, and tailored to each person’s unique needs and goals. I strive to build a strong therapeutic relationship based on trust, openness, and mutual respect, recognizing that every client’s journey is unique. I work alongside clients to help them navigate challenges with greater confidence and clarity. I integrate evidence-based practices with a strengths-based perspective to help clients develop insight, build resilience, and create lasting positive change.

What you can expect from me

The first session is an opportunity for us to begin building a connection and explore what is most important to you at this point in your life. I will take time to learn about your concerns, personal history, current challenges, strengths, and goals so that we can develop a clear understanding of your needs. Together, we will identify priorities for treatment and begin creating a plan that aligns with your goals and values. I encourage open conversation and welcome questions so that you can determine whether I am the right fit for this chapter of your life journey. By the end of the session, you can expect to have a clearer understanding of the therapeutic process and the next steps toward achieving your personal goals.
