Great to meet you!

Hi, I’m Shinpei. I help individuals, couples, and families understand the painful patterns and cycles that keep them feeling stuck. Together, we will identify what happens beneath the conflict, anxiety, or disconnection, and practice new ways to respond with clarity and compassion. My style is warm, honest, and collaborative, with the goal of helping you break old cycles and build healthier connections with yourself and others. As an Asian-American therapist with third-culture experience, I bring a culturally sensitive lens to therapy and understand how family, identity, and belonging can shape emotional wellness. I offer therapy in English, Mandarin, and Thai.

My approach to therapy

My style is warm, collaborative, and honest, with a focus on helping clients feel safe, understood, and supported. I use attachment-based therapy to help clients identify the painful patterns and cycles that keep them feeling stuck, disconnected, or overwhelmed. I also integrate EMDR for trauma and distressing experiences, as well as ADHD-informed strategies to support attention, organization, emotional regulation, and follow-through. Together, we work toward breaking old cycles, building healthier relationships, and restoring a stronger sense of self.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, you can expect a warm, welcoming space where we take things at your pace. I will ask questions to better understand what brought you to therapy, what feels difficult right now, and what you hope will feel different. Together, we will begin identifying patterns or cycles that may be keeping you stuck and discuss goals that feel realistic and meaningful. My hope is that you leave feeling understood, supported, and with a clearer sense of where we can begin.
