Great to meet you!

Hi! My name is Shira and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker licensed in both Florida and New York. I am an integrative, action-oriented therapist dedicated to helping individuals and couples move from feeling stuck and disconnected to living with deep purpose, clarity, and security. I believe true healing requires looking at the whole person. Because of this, my work bridges the gap between the mind and the body. Clients appreciate that I bring a unique balance of profound warmth, practical directness, and evidence-based science to every session.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is holistic, collaborative, and deeply rooted in science. I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all model; instead, I look at the whole person and bridge the gap between the mind and the body. Clients describe my style as a unique blend of profound warmth and practical directness. I provide a safe, secure environment to process deep pain, while simultaneously offering the active feedback, clear strategies, and action-oriented tools you need to move forward.

Depending on your unique needs, our work together will draw from five specialized frameworks:

  • For Individual Healing & Identity: I use Somatic-Cognitive tools to help your physical nervous system release trapped trauma and tension. I combine this with ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy) and Existential Therapy to help you navigate moments of feeling lost, clarify your core values, and discover a deep sense of personal purpose.
  • For Couples & Relationships: My work is highly interactive and grounded in relationship science. By blending the Gottman Method with a PACT lens, we look at your real-time communication patterns, body language, and attachment styles. Together, we will track how your nervous systems interact so you can break painful loops and co-create a secure, protective partnership.

Ultimately, my goal is to help you move past simple survival. Together, we will actively work to transform past hurt, regulate your system, and design a life or relationship that feels genuinely yours.

What you can expect from me

Our first session is all about creating a safe, low-pressure environment where we can unpack where you are right now and map out where you want to go. Therapy can feel vulnerable, so we will always move at a pace that feels secure for your nervous system.

Here is an outline of what our first session might look like together:

  • Getting Grounded & Comfortable: We will start with a brief check-in to help you settle into the space. There is no pressure to "fix" everything or have all the answers on day one. Come exactly as you are.
  • Understanding Your Story: We will talk about what brought you into therapy. Whether you are an individual feeling lost and weighed down by past trauma, or a couple trying to break free from painful, repetitive communication loops, I want to understand your unique experience.
  • Exploring Your Vision: We will look at what you want your life or relationship to actually look like. Using an ACT and existential lens, we will begin exploring your core values and identifying who you want to be moving forward.
  • Co-Creating a Game Plan: Before we wrap up, we will outline a collaborative strategy. Whether that means targeting somatic mind-body tools for individual trauma healing, or practicing real-time Gottman/PACT communication shifts for your relationship, you will leave with a clear idea of how our future sessions will help you grow.
