Great to meet you!

Hello, and welcome. I'm Shirley Quispe, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LCADC).

If you're feeling overwhelmed by anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, life transitions, trauma, or substance use challenges, you're not alone. Reaching out for support can be one of the most difficult steps, but it can also be the beginning of meaningful change and healing.

I believe therapy is a collaborative process that provides a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space for self-exploration and growth.

Whether you are seeking support for emotional difficulties, recovery from substance use, personal growth, or a deeper understanding of yourself, I am committed to walking alongside you on your journey toward healing and well-being.

I look forward to supporting you in creating the meaningful changes you want for your life.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is collaborative, compassionate, and tailored to each client's unique needs and goals. I draw from psychodynamic therapy, helping clients explore how past experiences, relationships, and recurring patterns may influence their current thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. I also integrate evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, and strengths-based interventions, to help clients develop practical tools for managing life's challenges.

I believe that meaningful change happens when clients feel safe, understood, and empowered. My goal is to create a nonjudgmental space where clients can gain insight, build resilience, and work toward lasting emotional well-being.

What you can expect from me

During our first session, my primary focus is getting to know you and understanding what brings you to therapy. We will discuss your current concerns, personal history, strengths, and goals for treatment. This is also an opportunity for you to ask questions and determine whether I am a good fit for your needs.

I understand that starting therapy can feel intimidating, so I strive to create a welcoming, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where you can feel comfortable sharing at your own pace. By the end of the session, we will begin identifying goals and discussing a plan that feels meaningful and achievable for you. My hope is that you leave feeling heard, understood, and hopeful about the therapeutic process.
