My personal history involves quite a bit of trauma, abandonment, significant loss, chronic pain, and grief. For many of us, life tends to be an ongoing struggle, with moments of joy, beauty, and love sprinkled in. I've only been able to overcome the dark times, and my own self-destructive behavior born out of suffering, because I've had some amazing people and counselors who've helped me through the most difficult seasons. It's crucial to have someone walk with you when things get messy.

My goal as a therapist is to get to know you and help you discover what you need at this point in your life. I'm trained in multiple therapies including EMDR, which is helpful for trauma, anxiety, anger, and grief. I have experience with addiction, both as a therapist and as a past substance abuser. I’m also trained in spiritual direction, which can help you connect with the richer, deeper, more meaningful aspects of life, and of yourself.

In our first and subsequent sessions you can expect to be seen, heard, validated, and accepted. You’ll feel like you have someone who is with you and for you. You'll likely laugh. You may cry. You'll definitely be challenged. Ultimately, my hope is that you'll experience healing, growth, and freedom from whatever is keeping you from a meaningful and purposeful life.
