Great to meet you!

Welcome, and thank you for allowing me to take part in your life's journey.

My therapeutic approach has a holistic framework and Systems Theory perspective, integrating techniques to promote Whole Person Wellness within each of the eight Dimensions of Wellness; Emotional, Environmental, Financial, Intellectual, Occupational, Physical, Social, and Spiritual. In this way, I can provide you with individualized care to meet your unique needs while recognizing that you function as part of a larger system.

I spent the last 15 years in service to veterans and families in the Veterans Administration.

I have 36 years of social work experience. Obtained my BSW 1990, MSW 2003, and LCSW 2008.

My approach to therapy

I use integrated techniques from Motivational Interviewing (MI) to assess motivation to change and address any ambivalence towards change, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) are both "talk therapies" that change how you act and feel by changing your thoughts. CBT helps you challenge and fix unhelpful thoughts. DBT is a type of CBT that adds skills for accepting pain and dealing with big emotions or irrational thoughts and self-talk messages, and Existential to help externalize problems and redefine meaning and purpose. My therapy services address concerns or issues including, but not limited to: Depression and anxiety  Shame, self-esteem, Wellness, spirituality, mindfulness, Grief, loss, geriatrics, and trauma.

What you can expect from me

During the first visit, clients can expect an initial consultation to review their background and discuss goals. They will complete intake paperwork, talk about their specific needs or challenges, and establish a clear plan for moving forward.
