Great to meet you!

Hello, my name is Sierra! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) who graduated with my Master’s Degree from Aurora University. I have experience working with both teen and adult clients with struggles ranging from anxiety and relationship conflict, to depression, grief and trauma. I specialize in working with individuals struggling with disordered eating and body image concerns. I am EMDR trained and also a certified yoga instructor. Both personally and professionally, I enjoy helping others feel empowered within their own bodies through mindful movement, self compassion, and emotional regulation.

I strive to advocate for inclusivity in any ways I can both inside and outside of my therapeutic practice. This includes, but is not limited to, working with individuals who identify within the LGBTQIA community as well as clients who are neuro-divergent. My therapeutic approach primarily involves providing clients a safe space to be heard and validated. I focus on the strengths a person already has and help to align their values and goals with their actions. As Mahatma Gandhi says, “happiness is when what you think, what you say, and what you do are in harmony. “

In my free time, I enjoy reading, snuggling with my two cats, Winston and Arlo, and going on walks with my husband. I am also currently learning how to crochet and make pottery!

I look forward to meeting with you and becoming a part of your healing and growth journey.

My approach to therapy

I have experience working with both teen and adult clients with struggles ranging from anxiety and relationship conflict, to depression, grief and trauma. I specialize in working with individuals struggling with disordered eating and body image concerns. I am EMDR trained and also a certified yoga instructor. Both personally and professionally, I enjoy helping others feel empowered within their own bodies through mindful movement, self compassion, and emotional regulation.

I focus on the strengths a person already has and help to align their values and goals with their actions. As Mahatma Gandhi says, “happiness is when what you think, what you say, and what you do are in harmony. “

What you can expect from me

In an initial session, I want to prioritize building rapport with the client and helping them feel heard and seen. Clients are not their issues nor can they be identified by what has happened to them. I like to learn about hobbies and things that make them happy versus soley focusing on challenges they are facing.

From there, I like to get a general idea of their goals and start creating a plan of action moving forward.
