Silvia Escobar

My name is Silvia Escobar and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) based in Southern California. I work with adolescents and adults specializing in depression, anxiety, life transitions, and stress using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Strength Based Therapy to help my clients make progress and start feeling better. I pride myself on my ability to listen without imparting judgment.

My approach to therapy varies based on the needs of each client I work with. The modalities I most use help me and the client develop a shared understanding of their current reality, and allow us to work together to build a path forward. I work with client to set goals by listening intently to their history and what brought them to therapy. I focus on building trust between the client and I, since my initial goal is to have the client feel comfortable with what it means to be in therapy.

You can expect from our first session together is for us to spend the majority of our time talking about how you have been feeling recently and for me to ask clarifying questions to better understand some of why you may be feeling that way. The first session is about us building an initial connection and helping me get an overall sense of where we should go from there. Every individual is different, and I like to listen first before assuming I know what will work best for you moving forward.
