Great to meet you!

Hello, my name is Simi, and I am a licensed social worker. I am a firm believer in the dictum that every person has the potential and inner resources to achieve whichever goal they set for themselves. Martin Luther King Jr once said, “If you can’t fly then run, if you can’t run then walk, if you can’t walk, then crawl, but whatever you do, you have to keep moving forward.” My goal in therapy is to meet the client where they are, wherever that place may be, and thereafter journey with them to where they hope and dream to be. I strive to instill hope, rebuild self-esteem, restore self-worth, and ultimately repair relationships, whether it is with oneself or with others.

My approach to therapy

My passion is to inspire change and improve the client's quality of life through self-awareness and self-exploration. I assist clients in bringing awareness to their inner strength and resources they may not have noticed, and in working with them toward self-actualization and self-empowerment. My therapy approaches include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing. My areas of specialization are: Depression, Anxiety & Stress

  • Adolescents and Young Adults, Communication Skills, Family Dynamic Issues, Marriage / Couples
  • Life Transitions, and Self-Esteem Building

What you can expect from me

Approaching therapy can be daunting for many and often requires courage to allow oneself to become an open book to a stranger. I am keenly aware of this struggle, which is why one of my core values is to create a nonjudgmental environment where clients can freely express themselves and be vulnerable without fear of being judged. In therapy sessions, I strive to create “a safe space,” an atmosphere where clients feel heard, valued, genuinely cared for, and integral to the process.
