Great to meet you!

Simon is a board-certified and fully licensed professional counselor in DC, with a doctorate in medical science and a specialization in sex therapy. He helps clients navigate identity, sexuality, and relational challenges, offering a warm, affirming space where queer young adults and anyone facing sexual or identity shame feel genuinely supported.

My approach to therapy

Rather than relying solely on cognitive-behavioral techniques, Simon employs a relationship-driven, psychodynamic and IFS framework that uses the therapeutic alliance as the crucible for transformation. In sex therapy, he adds a systemic lens to examine how family, culture, and personal history shape sexual beliefs and behaviors. Simon works with clients to uncover unconscious patterns, heal attachment wounds, and rewrite relational scripts in collaborative, curiosity-driven sessions. By situating sexual and identity issues in their systemic and developmental roots he supports lasting change rather than quick symptom relief.

What you can expect from me

Clients can expect our first session to look like getting to know one another, gathering relevant information, and answering any questions they may have about the therapeutic process. From there, we will typically spend the next couple sessions setting goals and co-creating a treatment plan for what the client would like to work on in therapy.
