Great to meet you!

I believe many of the struggles people carry did not begin with them. Anxiety, self-doubt, relationship patterns, and emotional pain are often shaped by histories, experiences, and expectations that existed long before a person had language for them.

Therapy is a space to slow down, name what you've been carrying, and begin to understand it with compassion rather than judgment. I work with individuals, couples, and families navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, relationship challenges, identity concerns, and life transitions.

My own experience of navigating two cultures gives me a specific lens—one that has particular resonance for immigrants, the diaspora, and Black communities, and for those carrying the weight of cultural identity and intergenerational expectations. But that lens has value for anyone who has ever felt unseen, caught between belonging and becoming, or weighed down by a story that began before they did.

As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Certified Brain Injury Specialist, my approach is trauma-informed, relational, and deeply human. I hold space for the parts of people that have gone unseen.

The goal isn't to erase where you come from. It's to give you a choice about what to keep—and what to put down.

My approach to therapy

I approach therapy from the belief that our struggles make sense within the context of our experiences, relationships, and the environments that shaped us. Rather than asking, "What's wrong with you?" I often begin with a different question: What happened, and what did you learn you needed to do to survive?

Together, we explore the patterns beneath the pain — what was inherited, what was adapted to, and what may no longer be serving you. My goal is not to pathologize the ways you've learned to cope, but to understand them with compassion and create space for new possibilities.

My work is trauma-informed, relational, and culturally responsive. I draw from evidence-based approaches including CBT, mindfulness, family systems, and strengths-based therapies — always adapting the work to the unique needs of each person, couple, or family I work with.

I strive to create a space that feels warm, grounded, and honest — where you can slow down enough to better understand yourself, your story, and the choices available to you now.

What you can expect from me

Your first session is a chance for us to begin getting to know one another. We'll talk about what brought you to therapy, what feels most important right now, and what you're hoping might be different in your life or relationships.

I approach the first session with curiosity rather than assumptions. Together, we'll begin exploring your story and the challenges you're facing — what feels heaviest right now and how you've been carrying it. I may use brief screenings when appropriate to better understand your needs and help guide our work.

Most importantly, there is no pressure to share more than you're ready to. The first session is about creating a space that feels safe, grounded, and collaborative — a place where you don't have to carry everything alone.
