Great to meet you!

I believe mental health care should be personalized, respectful, and collaborative. With over 17 years of experience in psychiatry, I take time to truly listen and understand your story, not just your symptoms.

My approach is non-judgmental, supportive, and evidence-based. I work with you to create a treatment plan that fits your goals, comfort level, and lifestyle. I don’t believe in one-size-fits-all treatment, and I value clear communication, transparency, and shared decision-making.

You can expect care that is thoughtful, thorough, and focused on helping you feel better and function better in your daily life. My goal is to help you feel heard, understood, and supported every step of the way.

My approach to therapy

As a Mental Health Practitioner, Smink seeks to evaluate, diagnose, and develop a treatment plan and integrate his knowledge base in mental health to ensure his clients are satisfied with the services that he offers. Approach to care is conversation with the client in an open-minded manner.

What you can expect from me

Your first session is a comprehensive, supportive, and judgment-free conversation focused on understanding you as a whole person—not just your symptoms.

We’ll take time to review your current concerns, symptoms, personal history, treatment history, and goals. I’ll ask thoughtful questions to better understand what you’ve been experiencing and how it’s been affecting your daily life. You’ll also have plenty of space to share what you feel is most important.

Together, we’ll discuss possible diagnoses, treatment options, and recommendations. If appropriate, we’ll begin building a personalized treatment plan, which may include medication management, supportive strategies, and therapy-based approaches.

My goal is for you to leave the first session feeling heard, understood, and more hopeful, with a clearer sense of direction and next steps.

You don’t need to have everything figured out before coming in—just come as you are.
