Great to meet you!

My name is Sonia Blanton, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Texas. I earned my Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from The University of Texas at El Paso. I have extensive experience working with children, adolescents, and adults, as well as couples and families from diverse backgrounds. My clinical work includes supporting clients through grief and loss, depression, anxiety, relationship challenges, and a wide range of life stressors. I am committed to providing compassionate, evidence-based care that empowers individuals and families to build resilience, strengthen emotional well-being, and create meaningful, lasting change.

My approach to therapy

I use an integrative approach to therapy, drawing from Person-Centered Therapy, CBT, and EMDR. I believe in meeting clients where they are, creating a safe and supportive space, and helping them process experiences, challenge negative thinking patterns, and build healthier ways of coping and relating.

What you can expect from me

Clients can expect their first session to be a supportive, welcoming, and non-judgmental space. During this time, we will talk about what brings you to therapy, your current concerns, and any important background information that can help guide treatment. I will ask questions to better understand your emotional, mental, and relational needs, while also giving you space to share at your own pace.
