Sonia is a licensed mental health counselor who has worked with diverse clientele from many cultural, religious, socioeconomic and educational background. She has worked in a mental health clinic and in a school. Sonia has expertise working across the lifespan with high achieving young and mature adults with Anxiety and Depression. She received her BS from Syracuse University, her MS in School Psychology from CCNY and her PsyD in School-Clinical Child Psychology from Yeshiva University.

My approach to therapy

Sonia is experienced with mediating interpersonal and family relationships, substance use and helping clients reduce life stressors from a culturally responsive perspective. Life coaching is offered as well as cognitive behavioral therapy and an eclectic approach is used with a focus on mindfulness.

Clients should expect a decrease in their anxiety, an improvement in their affect, an improved mood and strategies to improve their daily coping skills and functioning.
