Great to meet you!

Hello, my name is Sonia Hylton, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) who provides therapy services to children, adolescents, and adults through telehealth. I earned my Master of Social Work degree from the University of Central Florida and have over three years of experience providing therapy to individuals facing challenges such as anxiety, depression, trauma, stress, self-esteem concerns, emotional regulation difficulties, life transitions, and relationship issues. I am committed to creating a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where clients feel heard, respected, and empowered. I have specialized training in Play Therapy and Sand Tray Therapy, allowing me to effectively support children and adolescents in processing emotions and developing healthy coping skills. My goal is to help clients build resilience, strengthen their emotional well-being, and create meaningful, lasting change in their lives.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is client-centered, collaborative, and tailored to each client's unique needs, strengths, and goals. I utilize evidence-based practices, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Client-Centered Therapy, and Solution-Focused Therapy. I believe in helping clients identify their strengths while developing practical tools to manage challenges, improve emotional well-being, and build resilience. When working with children and adolescents, I may also incorporate Play Therapy and Sand Tray Therapy techniques to support emotional expression and growth. My goal is to create a safe and empowering space where clients feel supported as they work toward meaningful and lasting change.

What you can expect from me

Clients can expect a welcoming, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment during their first session. We will spend time getting to know one another, discussing the concerns that brought them to therapy, and exploring their personal strengths, challenges, and goals. I will gather information about their background and current experiences to better understand their needs and develop an individualized treatment plan. Clients are encouraged to share at their own pace, and there is no pressure to discuss anything before they feel ready. By the end of the session, clients can expect to have a clearer understanding of the therapy process and the goals we will work toward together.
