Great to meet you!

Hello, thank you for taking the time to learn more about me and my practice. My professional background includes being a Special Education teacher for close to 15years, a school counselor for 5 years, working with foster children for 1 year, worked as an intake counselor in a psychiatric hospital for one year and then opened my private practice about 4 years ago. I have a wealth of knowledge and experience, both personally and professionally. I specialize in adolescents and adults, offering a multitude of modalities to help us accomplish your goals.

My approach to therapy

My view of therapy is that it is a journey of self exploration by the client meant to increase his/her level of self understanding and self awareness. I act as a guide to facilitate this journey. I do not dispense advice or directions on how my client should feel or act. It is my job to help clients identify, develop, and mobilize their own skills and resources in order to successfully solve problems, meet challenges, and heal from past hurtful or traumatic experiences.

What you can expect from me

It is my goal that clients take away something from every session. This could be resources to read/explore, activities to complete, skills to implement, moods to track, or what ever will help the client move forward towards their goals. We may also do EMDR, Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy, or Ear Acudetox in session that have immediate results.
