My approach to providing mental health care is to be patient-centered. Every patient will have an individualized treatment plan which is developed through shared decision-making between the patient and myself. I will strive to build a trusting relationship through active listening, clear communication, and ensuring emotional safety.

The seeds of a trustworthy relationship are planted during the first appointment. This appointment is known as an intake. During this appointment, the patient will share his/her medical and mental health history, medications, family history, and symptoms he/she is experiencing. You can also expect to share your goals of what you hope to achieve with treatment. I welcome questions that you may have of me and I encourage you to bring a notebook to take notes of what is discussed. I hope to end the appointment with the patient feeling completely satisfied with their treatment plan.
