Great to meet you!

Choosing a therapist is an important decision, and I believe that meaningful change begins with a relationship built on trust, respect, and genuine connection. My goal is to create a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where children, adolescents, and families feel heard, understood, and empowered.

Before becoming a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), I spent nearly two decades as an educator and later worked as a school counselor, experiences that gave me a deep understanding of the emotional, social, and academic challenges young people face. I also have experience in child welfare, which strengthened my commitment to protecting and advocating for children and families.

I hold master's degrees in Psychology and School Counseling and use an integrative, evidence-based approach tailored to each client's unique needs. My therapeutic work draws from Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), person-centered therapy, and play therapy techniques when working with younger clients.

I work with children, adolescents, and young adults experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD, behavioral concerns, school-related challenges, self-esteem issues, life transitions, and family or relationship difficulties. I believe every individual has strengths that can be built upon, and I strive to help clients develop practical skills, resilience, and confidence while moving toward meaningful, lasting change.

Whether you are seeking support for yourself or your child, I look forward to partnering with you on your journey toward healing and growth.

My approach to therapy

I believe that every client is unique, which is why I begin by taking the time to truly get to know each person and understand what has brought them to therapy. Together, we identify meaningful goals and create a treatment plan that reflects each client's strengths, values, and individual needs.

My approach is holistic, person-centered, and strengths-based. I strive to create a safe, supportive, and collaborative environment where clients feel heard, respected, and empowered throughout the therapeutic process. Rather than focusing solely on challenges, I help clients recognize and build upon their existing strengths while developing practical skills for lasting growth.

I integrate evidence-based approaches based on each client's needs. I frequently incorporate Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients understand the connection between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, and I use Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) to help clients identify strengths, set achievable goals, and make meaningful progress. My goal is to provide individualized care that equips clients with the tools and confidence to navigate life's challenges and create positive, lasting change.

What you can expect from me

Your first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another in a safe, welcoming, and nonjudgmental environment. My goal is to help you feel comfortable enough to share at your own pace while beginning to build a trusting therapeutic relationship.

I will learn about you, your experiences, strengths, concerns, and what has brought you to therapy. We'll also discuss your goals and what you hope to gain from our work together. I believe that therapy is most effective when it is collaborative, so I encourage you to ask questions at any time. I will also share a little about my approach so you know what to expect as we move forward together.

Throughout the session, I ask thoughtful questions to ensure I fully understand your perspective rather than making assumptions. By the end of our first meeting, I hope you feel heard, respected, and clearly understand how we can work together to support your growth and well-being.
