Great to meet you!

I’m Sophia Klingbiel, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, and I have been providing therapy and psychoeducation since 2012. I earned my Master’s in Social Work from George Williams College after completing my Bachelor’s degree in Social Work at Mount Mary College. My main areas of focus include trauma, depression, anxiety, ADHD, adoption-related concerns, life skills, emotional regulation, and other mental health needs. I work with clients who may feel overwhelmed, stuck, disconnected from themselves, or unsure how to move forward. I believe therapy should be a space where you feel supported, understood, and empowered to better understand your needs while building the tools to care for yourself in a more meaningful way.

My approach to therapy

My approach is client-centered, supportive, creative, and strengths-based. I believe clients know themselves deeply, and my role is to help you express your needs, understand your patterns, and use your strengths in a way that supports healing and growth. I am fully trained in EMDR, have begun training in Brainspotting, and also use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness, nature, and art within my practice. In session, this may look like processing trauma, identifying thought patterns that contribute to anxiety or depression, building coping skills, improving emotional awareness, and finding creative ways to reconnect with yourself. I meet clients where they are and tailor therapy to their unique needs, goals, and pace.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, I will focus on getting to know you as a person, not just the challenges that brought you to therapy. We will talk about what you are experiencing, what feels difficult right now, and what you hope to gain from our work together. Whether you are navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, ADHD, adoption-related concerns, life transitions, or emotional overwhelm, we will begin identifying your strengths and setting goals that feel realistic and supportive. My goal is for you to feel heard, respected, and comfortable as we begin creating a plan for specialized care that fits who you are and what you need.
