Great to meet you!

Sophia is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Licensed Advanced Alcohol & Drug Counselor who is passionate about helping individuals navigate life’s challenges with resilience, growth, and a renewed sense of purpose. She is licensed in both California and Oregon and brings a well-rounded, compassionate approach to her work with clients.

Her philosophy centers on whole-person care, recognizing the connection between mind, body, and spirit. Sophia strives to create a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental environment where clients feel empowered to explore their experiences and make meaningful changes in their lives.

She specializes in working with individuals facing concerns such as trauma, substance use, self-esteem challenges, chronic illness, caregiver stress, grief and loss, and personal growth and development. Sophia is trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and is a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP), allowing her to integrate evidence-based practices into a personalized and effective treatment approach.

Sophia is committed to meeting clients where they are and working collaboratively to build the tools, insight, and confidence needed to move forward. Whether you are seeking support through a difficult time or working toward personal growth, she is here to guide and support you on your journey.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is holistic, collaborative, and client-centered, with a focus on supporting the whole person—mind, body, and spirit. I believe that healing and growth occur when individuals feel safe, understood, and empowered to explore their experiences at their own pace.

I work alongside clients to better understand their challenges, identify strengths, and develop practical strategies for meaningful and sustainable change. My style is supportive, affirming, and interactive, while also encouraging reflection, accountability, and skill-building throughout the therapeutic process.

I integrate evidence-based modalities tailored to each client’s needs, including Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), trauma-informed approaches, and techniques that support emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness. I also draw from my training as a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP) to support individuals working through trauma, substance use, grief and loss, chronic stress, and life transitions.

My work often focuses on helping clients improve self-esteem, build resilience, and gain clarity and direction in their lives. Whether someone is seeking support for recovery, coping with chronic illness, navigating caregiver stress, or working through personal growth challenges, I aim to create a compassionate space where clients feel heard, supported, and equipped with tools they can apply in their daily lives.

What you can expect from me

In the first session, clients can expect a warm, supportive, and non-judgmental environment where they are encouraged to share at their own pace. My priority is to create a space where you feel safe, respected, and comfortable as we begin getting to know each other.

We will spend time discussing what brought you to therapy, your current concerns, and what you hope to gain from the process. I may ask questions about your personal history, strengths, and any previous experiences with therapy to better understand your needs and how best to support you.

Together, we will begin identifying initial goals and exploring what a meaningful path forward might look like. This may include building coping skills, improving emotional regulation, processing past experiences, or working toward personal growth and self-understanding. Goals are always collaborative and tailored to your individual needs and pace.

By the end of the session, my aim is for you to leave with a sense of clarity, support, and direction, along with a better understanding of how we can work together moving forward. I also encourage questions, so you feel informed and confident in the therapeutic process.
