Great to meet you!

My name is Sophia Nairima, and I am a dual-certified Family and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (FNP-BC, PMHNP-C) licensed in California.

With more than ten years in healthcare, including hospital settings, rehabilitation centers, and outpatient treatment, I have built a practice grounded in whole-person, compassionate care. Over the years, I have come to understand that mental health and physical health are deeply interconnected, and that the most meaningful care happens when providers slow down and truly listen.

My approach is collaborative and patient-centered. I take time to understand your full picture: your history, your stressors, your goals, and what is already working. Together, we will develop a plan that fits your real life.

I specialize in working with adults and commonly support patients managing anxiety disorders, depressive disorders, ADHD and attention-related concerns, bipolar disorder, panic disorders, obsessive-compulsive symptoms, trauma-related symptoms, sleep-related concerns, and mood and emotional regulation challenges.

I offer telehealth appointments across California, making psychiatric support accessible, private, and convenient from wherever you are.

Whether you are new to mental health care or have been on this journey for a while, you deserve care that truly sees you. I would be glad to be part of that.

My approach to therapy

My approach to care is collaborative, unhurried, and deeply rooted in the belief that every patient deserves to be seen as a whole person, not just a set of symptoms.

I begin by taking time to truly understand you: your story, your history, what has worked in the past, what has not, and what you are hoping to feel and experience in your life. From there, we build a care plan together, one that is practical, realistic, and centered on your goals.

I bring a background that spans more than ten years across hospital medicine, rehabilitation, chronic disease management, and outpatient care. This breadth of experience means I approach psychiatric care through a whole-body lens. I understand how physical health, lifestyle, stress, and mental wellbeing are all connected, and I factor all of it into how I support you.

My sessions are a space where you can be honest, ask questions, and take your time. I do not rush through what matters. Whether we are working through a new concern or managing something you have carried for years, my goal is to meet you where you are and move at a pace that works for you.

I provide telehealth care to patients across California, offering the privacy and convenience of receiving quality psychiatric support from your own space.

What you can expect from me

Your first session is not about having all the answers. It is about getting acquainted, and giving me the chance to truly understand what brought you here.

We will spend time going over your health history, your current concerns, and what day-to-day life has been feeling like for you. I will ask questions, but I also want to hear what is most important to you. This is your session, and your priorities matter.

By the end of our first visit, my goal is for you to leave feeling heard, informed, and clear on what the next step looks like. Depending on your needs, that may include discussing a diagnosis, exploring treatment options, talking through medication considerations, or simply mapping out a plan for how we move forward together.

I work to create an environment that feels calm and judgment-free. There is no pressure to have everything figured out before you come in. Many patients arrive unsure of exactly what they need, and that is completely okay. Part of my job is to help you make sense of what you are experiencing.

I see patients via telehealth across California, so your first session can take place from the comfort of your own home, on your schedule.

If you have been thinking about reaching out, the first session is often the hardest step. I am here to make it feel as easy as possible.
