Great to meet you!

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in California with experience in community mental health. I am bilingual in English and Korean, and I have a special interest in supporting Korean-speaking clients and individuals seeking culturally responsive care.

If you are more comfortable speaking in Korean or would prefer working with a Korean therapist, I would be glad to support you.

I strive to provide a safe, respectful, and supportive space where clients can feel understood in both language and cultural context. I support clients who are navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, stress, life transitions, and relationship challenges.

I use evidence-based and trauma-informed approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, strengths-based practice, and mindfulness-based interventions. I am also currently completing training in EMDR.

My approach to therapy

My approach is warm, collaborative, nonjudgmental, and client-centered. I believe clients are the experts of their own lives, and my role is to provide a safe and supportive space where they can feel heard, understood, and respected.

Rather than telling clients what to do, I use thoughtful and insight-oriented questions to help clients better understand themselves, their emotions, patterns, strengths, and needs. Together, we identify goals, build coping skills, and explore practical steps toward meaningful change.

I use evidence-based and trauma-informed approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, strengths-based practice, mindfulness-based interventions, and EMDR-informed care as I continue my EMDR training. I especially value providing culturally responsive care for Korean-speaking clients and individuals navigating stress, anxiety, trauma, relationships, and life transitions.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, you can expect a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where you can share your story at your own pace. I will listen carefully to understand your concerns, background, strengths, and what you are hoping to receive from therapy.

Together, we will discuss what you want to work on and what direction feels most helpful for you. I believe the direction of therapy should be guided by your goals and needs, while I use my clinical insight to help develop a thoughtful and individualized treatment plan.

The first session is an important time for me to get to know you, understand what matters to you, and begin building a collaborative plan for your healing and growth.
