Great to meet you!

My own experiences with mental health inspired me to pursue a career in social work and supporting others through life's challenges. I earned a bachelor's degree in psychology from Fresno State and a Master of Social Work from San José State University, and my experience includes working in residential treatment, school-based mental health, and community service through AmeriCorps. I currently leada high school Wellness Center, where I help students, families, and staff navigate stress, anxiety, life transitions, and other challenges. I also spent 10 years as a full-time parent to my three children and was a foster parent, experiences that strengthened my understanding of resilience and the complexities of caregiving. In my private practice, I work with young adults and adults, helping clients develop greater psychological flexibility, connect with what matters most to them, and build a life that reflects their values.

My approach to therapy

I use an Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) approach to help clients build psychological flexibility and respond to life's challenges in ways that align with their values. Rather than trying to eliminate difficult thoughts and emotions, we work togetherto develop a different relationship with them so they have less influence over yourchoices. My style is collaborative, compassionate, and practical, and I tailor therapy to each person's unique goals and experiences. I commonly work with young adultsand adults experiencing anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, life transitions, and the unique questions and changes that can come with midlife. My goal is to help clients create a life that feels meaningful and fulfilling, even when life is difficult.

What you can expect from me

The first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other and determine whether we're a good fit. We'll talk about what brought you to therapy, your current challenges, and the goals you hope to achieve. I'll ask questions to better understand your background, strengths, and what matters most to you, while giving you space to share at your own pace. Together, we'll begin developing a plan that aligns with your values and the changes you'd like to make. My goal is to create a warm, nonjudgmental environment where you feel heard, respected, and comfortable being yourself.
