Great to meet you!

I help people with depression, anxiety, trauma, and loneliness, as well as those experiencing stressful situations like dating, relationship problems, work issues, grief, and life transitions like going to college, marriage, divorce, and retirement. I also specialize in working with people who have trouble sleeping, losing weight, chronic pain, quitting smoking/vaping, and adjusting to medical illnesses like cancer, diabetes, and dementia. Additionally, I help couples who want to improve their communication skills, resolve conflicts, and increase the quality of their relationship.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is warm, collaborative, open-minded, and honest. At our first session, in addition to discussing what brought you to therapy, I will share with you what potentially diagnoses I will be assessing for because your input is important to me and our work together. You've known yourself a lot longer than I will have so it is essential that I keep us on the same page. To that end, in our second session we will discuss your treatment goals so I know exactly what you want to accomplish during our sessions. If you are interested, we may also explore your values, to make sure your actions and decisions are guided by what matters most to you.

What you can expect from me

Our first session will be a thorough evaluation with two goals: for me to get to know you as a person and also to make accurate diagnoses. We will also discuss treatment goals and potential treatment plans, although I usually do that in more detail in our second session.
