Great to meet you!

I believe that mental health care should feel personal, supportive, and judgment-free. As a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner, I work with children, adolescents, and adults and strive to create a space where clients feel heard, respected, and comfortable being themselves. I understand that reaching out for mental health care can be difficult, and I want each person to feel that they have a partner in their treatment—not simply someone making decisions for them.

My approach to therapy

My approach is collaborative, compassionate, and individualized. I take time to understand the whole person, including their mental health history, current symptoms, relationships, environment, goals, and the experiences that have shaped them. Together, we identify realistic goals and develop a treatment plan that fits their needs and preferences.

When medication is appropriate, I focus on evidence-based treatment while carefully considering benefits, potential side effects, and each client’s individual circumstances. I also believe medication is only one part of mental health care and encourage healthy coping strategies, therapy, lifestyle changes, and other supports when appropriate. My goal is to help clients feel empowered and actively involved in their care.

What you can expect from me

The first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another and for me to understand what brings you to treatment. We will discuss your current concerns, mental health history, medical history, medications, symptoms, and goals for care. I will also answer questions and explain treatment options so that we can determine the best path forward together.

You do not need to have everything figured out before your first appointment. Come as you are. My goal is for you to leave your first session feeling listened to, understood, and hopeful about the next steps in your mental health journey.
