Great to meet you!

Hello, I’m Stacey Dowd, a board-certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) with a passion for helping adults and seniors navigate a variety of mental health challenges. I earned my master’s degree from Maryville University and am licensed to practice in Florida, Montana, Alaska, and Washington.

My clinical experience spans a broad range of conditions, including depression, anxiety, PTSD, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, and more. I also have experience working with veterans, as well as individuals living with Alzheimer’s disease, dementia, and other age-related concerns.

My approach is direct yet personable—I believe in honest, open communication while always maintaining empathy and respect. I take the time to truly listen to my clients, ensuring they feel heard and understood. Together, we’ll develop a collaborative plan tailored to your unique needs, with the goal of enhancing your quality of life and overall well-being.

I look forward to being a supportive part of your mental health journey and helping you achieve your goals.

My approach to therapy

My approach to providing care is rooted in authenticity, respect, and partnership. I believe in being direct and transparent with my clients, while also maintaining a warm, approachable demeanor. I strive to create a supportive environment where clients feel genuinely heard and understood, and where their individual needs and preferences are always at the forefront of our work together.

In my practice, I blend evidence-based medication management with supportive therapy and practical strategies for daily living. I encourage clients to take an active role in their care, and I tailor each treatment plan to reflect their unique goals and circumstances. My focus is on empowering clients to build resilience, develop effective coping skills, and achieve meaningful improvements in their quality of life.

What you can expect from me

Clients can expect a welcoming, nonjudgmental, and supportive environment during their first session with me. My primary goal is to create a safe space where clients feel comfortable sharing their concerns and experiences. During our initial meeting, I focus on building rapport and trust, gathering a comprehensive understanding of each client’s mental health history, current symptoms, and personal goals.

Together, we will discuss what brings you in, explore your strengths and challenges, and identify your priorities for treatment. I aim to collaborate with you in developing a personalized care plan that aligns with your unique needs and values. By the end of the first session, clients can expect to have a clearer understanding of the therapeutic process, initial steps for moving forward, and a sense of partnership in their mental health journey.
