Great to meet you!

Deciding to start therapy takes courage, and finding the right therapist is one of the most important parts of the process. I want to make that decision a little easier by telling you a bit about who I am and how I work.

I've been in private practice for about 15 years, and over that time I've had the privilege of working with a wide range of people — from children and adolescents navigating the challenges of growing up, to adults facing the pressures of relationships, career transitions, grief, anxiety, and everything in between. That breadth of experience has shaped me into a therapist who is adaptable, attuned, and genuinely invested in the unique needs of each person who walks through my door.

Over the course of my career, I've worked in a variety of clinical settings before establishing my private practice — and those experiences gave me a well-rounded foundation that I draw from every single day. I've seen firsthand that people come to therapy with different backgrounds, different comfort levels, and very different goals. That's not a challenge — it's something I genuinely love about this work. No two clients are the same, and I never treat them as if they are.

Whether you're dealing with something acute and overwhelming, or a quieter, longer-standing struggle you've never quite been able to shake, I'm here to help you make sense of it and move through it in a way that actually works for your life.

My approach to therapy

Therapy is not something I do to you — it's something we do together. My approach is deeply collaborative, which means from our very first session, you are an active participant in shaping the direction of our work. I don't arrive with a predetermined plan or a one-size-fits-all framework. Instead, I start by listening — really listening — to understand where you are, what's brought you here, and what you're hoping your life looks like on the other side of this process.

From there, we build a treatment plan together that reflects your actual goals, your values, and your pace. That plan isn't set in stone — it evolves as you evolve. If something isn't working, we adjust. If you find that a particular approach resonates, we lean into it. The whole process is guided by what genuinely helps you, not by a rigid clinical checklist.

I meet clients where they are — which means I don't expect you to arrive ready to dive into the deep end. Some people need time to build trust before they feel comfortable opening up, and that's completely okay. Others want to get to work immediately. I adjust my style to fit what you need, not the other way around.

What stays consistent no matter what is my commitment to creating a space that feels safe, nonjudgmental, and honest — a place where you can say the things you haven't been able to say anywhere else, and where that vulnerability is met with care and respect.

What you can expect from me

I design every session with one goal in mind: that you leave with something real. Not just a sense of having been heard — though that matters enormously — but an actual tool, insight, or perspective you can carry with you into your week and put to use right away.

That might look different from session to session. Some weeks it's a concrete coping strategy for managing anxiety in the moment. Other weeks it's a reframe that helps you see a relationship or situation in a new way. Sometimes it's simply the clarity that comes from finally saying something out loud and having it reflected back to you. Whatever form it takes, my intention is always that our time together translates into something meaningful for your daily life — not just in the therapy room.

That's especially important to me because life doesn't pause between sessions. The real work of healing and growth happens out in the world, and I want to make sure every session gives you something that helps you navigate that world a little better than the week before.

In our very first session, we'll spend time getting to know each other. I'll ask about what brought you to therapy, what's been weighing on you, and what a better version of your daily life might look like. There's no pressure to have perfect answers — we'll figure it out together. By the time we wrap up, you'll have a sense of what working with me feels like and a clearer picture of where we're headed.
