Great to meet you!

I'm a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with over 17 years of nursing experience across inpatient, emergency, acute care, critical care, and psychiatric settings. Throughout my career, I have cared for individuals facing a wide range of medical and mental health challenges, including those experiencing psychiatric crises and acute behavioral health concerns.

My experience in emergency medicine, critical care, and psychiatric settings has shaped my understanding of how mental health affects every aspect of a person's life and reinforced my belief that everyone deserves compassionate, individualized care. It has also strengthened my commitment to treating the whole person, not just their symptoms.

I work with adolescents and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma-related concerns, mood disorders, and other mental health challenges. I have a particular appreciation for the unique experiences of veterans, active-duty military members, first responders, healthcare professionals, and others who work in high-stress environments.

My approach is collaborative, practical, and patient-centered. I strive to create a welcoming, nonjudgmental space where you feel heard, respected, and actively involved in your treatment. Together, we'll develop a personalized treatment plan that supports your goals and overall well-being.

My approach to therapy

My approach is collaborative, practical, and patient-centered. I believe the best outcomes come from developing a strong therapeutic relationship where you feel heard, respected, and actively involved in your treatment decisions. Together, we'll create a treatment plan tailored to your goals, incorporating evidence-based medication management, supportive therapy, and strategies to help you build resilience and improve your overall well-being.

Seeking help takes courage, and my goal is to provide a welcoming, judgment-free space where you can feel comfortable discussing your concerns and working toward meaningful change.

What you can expect from me

During our first session, my primary goal is to get to know you and understand what brings you to treatment. We'll discuss your current concerns, symptoms, personal history, medical history, and any previous mental health treatment you've received. I also want to learn about your strengths, goals, and the factors that may be affecting your overall well-being.

The first appointment is a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation, which allows me to develop a thorough understanding of your needs and determine the most appropriate treatment recommendations. Together, we'll discuss possible diagnoses, treatment options, and whether medication, therapy, lifestyle changes, or a combination of approaches may be beneficial.

I strive to create a supportive, nonjudgmental environment where you feel comfortable asking questions and sharing your experiences. My approach is collaborative, and I believe treatment decisions should be made together. By the end of the session, you can expect to have a clearer understanding of your treatment options and a plan for moving forward.
