Great to meet you!

My clients often begin therapy with me after attempts on their own to navigate often overlapping issues of anxiety, depression, other mood disorders, addictions, complex trauma/PTSD; and issues related to relationships (with self and others), self-esteem, self-identity, self-doubt, life transitions, life balance, life meaning, family conflict, analysis paralysis, perfectionism, life direction, chronic pain, other chronic illnesses. I have decades of experience in the "helping fields", including: mental/behavioral health therapist (FLA Licensed Clinical Social Worker-LCSW), Registered Nurse (FLA-RN), Qualified Supervisor for pre-licensed MSW grads (QS), Licensed Healthcare Risk Manager (LHCM-FL), Certified Mindfulness Instructor, yoga teacher. I've often held dual mental health/medical roles in various settings. I've worked extensively within residential and out-patient treatment for addictions with co-occuring disorders or primary mental health issues, residential geriatrics or medical disability, home health, private office/homes/telehealth/virtual; individuals, couples, families, groups, and experiential workshops series. My medical background strongly informs my therapeutic approaches for mental health. I work with older teenagers, adults of all ages. In some select cases I'll work with select couples and families. Currently, I offer mostly telehealth/virtual therapy sessions, but will soon offer more in-person opportunities that will also include Mindfulness on the Beach training packages.

My approach to therapy

My methodology is eclectic. I use elements drawn from my advanced training in therapies such as mindfulness- & cognitive-based, solution-focused, trauma-focused, narrative, psychoanalytics, psychodynamic, and others. I have a strong focus on mind-body connection and exploring all life domains. I draw from my my medical background to educate on brain science (e.g. neiroplasticity) and physiology of your symptoms. I find this helps reduce anxiety, fear, and self-doubt related to your struggles quickly so you can feel a sense of hope and empowerment to move you forward into better days.

What you can expect from me

Your therapy will be as unique as you are. I help clients find the exceptions to their suffering & tap into their innate strengths & various resources. I teach clients skills that help them develop more independent coping & the confidence to move forward.
