Great to meet you!

I have been a LMFT since 2005. However, I have been in this field for longer than that. I love working with clients/patients and watching the positive healthy changes and shifts they have made through the process of the therapeutic work. I have worked extensively with foster and adoptive youth and families as well as with trauma victims with ptsd. My most challenging clients/patients and most rewarding is helping those who have been victims of human trafficking. I have also seen patients who live with chronic ailments, have panic attacks and depression learn coping skills to lessen their symptoms. I have treated those who have gone towards substance or alcohol use to mask their underlining trauma or pain to find alternative ways and stay clean and sober.

My approach to therapy

I strongly lean towards empowering clients to gain a sense of control over their lives again and to strengthen their self-worth. Whether it is from being a victim of abuse or medical circumstances. My approach is more Holistic: Mind, Body and Soul. You cannot separate these out. I have done a lot of dream work with clients as well as Somatic therapy. Feeling safe in one's environment always is number one area to address before we move further into sessions.

What you can expect from me

First session is an intake and also building rapport. I work with you to set what you want as your goal(s), and we work together to achieve that direction in session. I often give coping skills and things to do outside of the therapy hour.
