Great to meet you!

I have a master's degree in community counseling and have been working in the mental health field for over 20 years. My professional background is fairly diverse, as I've worked in community mental health, treatment foster care and adoptions, and drug and alcohol treatment. I started specializing in trauma treatment ~ 10 years ago; I'm certified to provide EMDR and TF-CBT for trauma, and also use Internal Family Systems (IFS) in my practice. When not treating trauma, I often use cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) for certain diagnoses, especially anxiety and depression.

My approach to therapy

My approach to your therapy will be based upon what you want and need, as well as what is most comfortable to you. So for instance, if you don't really like to talk, we can do something other than talking, such as expressive arts. If you want or need information about your diagnosis or recommended coping skills, I can provide that as well. Your therapy time is YOUR time and I will adapt to whatever you need.

What you can expect from me

During your first session, you can expect me to listen intently to you, be curious about your life, and ask several symptom-related questions. You can also expect me to ask about goals you have for your therapy, and collaborate with you regarding the treatment you receive.
