Great to meet you!

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with almost 20 years of professional work experience addressing a range of mental health issues across the lifespan. Most of my life was spent in East Tennessee but my career experience began in Virginia where I obtained my counseling license in 2014. In 2020 I moved to Yuma, Arizona, and am eligible to work with clients in both states.

Education and Credentials:

I received my Bachelor's degree in Psychology in 2003 from Radford University in Radford, Virginia. I soon followed it with my Master's degree in Counseling in 2007 at East Tennessee State University in Johnson City, Tennessee. In 2021 I received my School Counseling Certificate from the state of Arizona.

My approach to therapy

Specialized Training:

My specialty is treating trauma. I have been trained in a variety of treatment techniques, but becauseof its high success rate, and reduced treatment period, my primary tool is Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). I became trained and started this evidence-based technique in 2014. In 2020, I took it a step further and became certified through EMDRIA. This certification guarantees you that I remain sharp and dedicated to continual skills training in EMDR each year, adding to the confidence you are receiving the best trauma care.

I am currently accepting clients who need help with the following needs:

Trauma and Abuse

Stress and Anxiety

Depression

Parent-Child Relationships

Attachment Issues

Self-Esteem and Confidence

Additionally, I am married to a first responder, sister to a combat veteran, and have experience working with these specialized populations, giving me direct insight into the unique needs and stressors these specialized populations go through.
