Great to meet you!

You don't have to explain yourself from the beginning. After 30 years of working alongside people navigating grief, trauma, addiction, loss, and the thousand things that don't fit neatly into any category — I've learned that what most people need first is someone who isn't surprised by any of it. I hold licenses in both Colorado and South Carolina, and I bring training in EMDR alongside the kind of honest, sometimes warm, sometimes direct presence that comes from three decades of actual clinical work. I work with adolescents, adults, and seniors. I've sat with people in their hardest seasons — end-of-life care, substance use, family ruptures, cultural displacement — and I'll sit with you in yours.

My approach to therapy

I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and EMDR as primary frameworks — not because they're trendy but because decades of evidence (and my own clinical experience) confirm they work. But the framework is never the whole picture. I listen for the patterns underneath the presenting problem: what emotions are actually driving behavior, what old stories are still running in the background. I use humor when it's earned and directness when it's needed. My goal isn't to keep you in therapy forever — it's to help you understand yourself well enough that you need me less.

What you can expect from me

The first session is a conversation, not an intake form read aloud. We'll talk about what brought you here, what's been most difficult, and what you actually want from therapy — not just symptoms to reduce but a life that feels more livable. I'll share a little about how I work so you can decide whether I'm the right fit. You don't need to have it all figured out before we meet. Ready to get started? Reach out to schedule — I'd love to talk.
