Great to meet you!

If you’ve been feeling overwhelmed by your thoughts, stuck in patterns you can’t seem to break, or struggling with emotions that feel too heavy to carry alone, you’re not alone. You might be dealing with anxiety that won’t let up, depression that drains your energy, or relationship challenges that leave you feeling disconnected. Maybe you’re navigating something more complex and just want a place where you can finally exhale.

My name is Stan Peck, and I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor with over 11 years of experience. I work with children, adolescents, and adults, helping people find clarity, stability, and a stronger sense of control in their lives. I earned my Master’s in Counseling from The University of North Alabama and have spent over a decade working with a wide range of clients in both outpatient and inpatient settings. My experience includes supporting individuals through anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, compulsive behaviors, and relationship challenges. I’ve worked closely with clients facing both everyday stressors and more severe mental health conditions, which has shaped my ability to meet people wherever they are. My background in communication also helps me connect with clients in a way that feels clear, grounded, and easy to engage with, no pressure, just real conversation.

My approach to therapy

I have specialized at one time or another in Cognitive Behavior Therapy and Person-Centered therapy. However, these days I am more integrative and pull from many theories (therapies) including Person-Centered, Cognitive Behavioral, Reality, Existential, Gestalt, Solution-Focused Brief, and Adlerian. I have trained in an inpatient hospital setting working with severely mentally ill clients. I specialize in the more severe disorders as well such as schizophrenia and bipolar disorder as well as major depressive disorder.

What you can expect from me

My goal is to utilize congruence (genuineness), empathy, and unconditional positive regard to create an environment where my clients feel comfortable with sharing about themselves without judgement. My therapy environment is relaxed, as I let clients proceed at their own pace. I have the ability to provide structure, yet every client is different.
