Great to meet you!

I am a psychologist with over 20 years of experience (17 years licensed) working with adults from a variety of backgrounds and identities, facing a wide range of challenges. I work most often with people facing anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, relationship challenges, or life transitions. I also have a great deal of experience working with adults who are navigating college, graduate school, or the early years in their careers – times when questions of identity, purpose, and connection are at the forefront. I am passionate about supporting and empowering people to grow, build on their strengths, and manage the challenges that life brings their way.

I would be honored to support you in reaching your goals and building a meaningful and satisfying life. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to me with questions!

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is collaborative, flexible, and person-centered. I believe you already have strengths and resources, and that you’re capable of growth and change. I aim to create a supportive relationship with a shared understanding of your needs, goals, and experiences. We’ll work together to build on your strengths while addressing patterns of thought, emotion, and relationships that keep you feeling stuck. I draw on several approaches, especially cognitive and interpersonal therapies, to help in that process.

I also find that each person's concerns are interconnected, and I'll help you focus on the whole picture of your life and your circumstances – not just symptoms – to cope with life’s challenges and create positive change.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, we’ll begin with an orientation to get you informed about the process and general expectations in therapy. You may have questions, and I’m happy to answer them as best I can! Then we’ll take time to discuss what’s bringing you to therapy and how we can use our sessions to help you. I’ll also ask questions to gain a wider picture of your life – your background, relationships, day-to-day life, challenges, and resources, as well as potential areas of risk. At the end of session, we’ll check in about how it went for you; and if you want to move forward, we’ll make a plan for the next steps.
