Great to meet you!
Since graduating from Slippery Rock University in 2003, I have been working in the counseling field. I have been a DBT therapist for about three years, fully embracing this model since starting at Rock Creek Wellness. I find the skills taught in DBT personally transformative, helping me navigate painful life experiences. This passion drives me to teach these skills, which I often hear clients wish they had learned sooner. DBT’s structured approach allows clients to learn and apply skills even amidst life challenges, leading to faster progress than with CBT. These universal skills can treat a range of concerns, including trauma, depression, anxiety, substance abuse, eating disorders, and marital difficulties. In couples therapy, both individuals complete skills training before joint sessions, leading to positive change through early application of DBT skills. Witnessing this positive change and the inherent skillfulness in each patient is incredibly exciting for me.
