Great to meet you!

Before transitioning into psychiatric practice, I spent several years as a nurse practitioner in adult primary care obstetrics and substance use, building on more than a decade of prior nursing experience. This broad clinical background shapes my whole-person approach to psychiatric medication management, allowing me to consider the connection between physical and mental health when developing individualized treatment plans.

My primary focus is providing thoughtful, evidence-based psychiatric medication management tailored to each client's individual needs and goals. I recognize that finding the right medication or combination of treatments can take time. I am committed to working collaboratively with my clients to explore options, carefully monitor their progress, and make adjustments as needed to achieve the best possible outcomes.

My goal is to provide personalized psychiatric care grounded in compassion, respect, and a commitment to helping you feel heard, informed, and supported throughout the treatment process.

Outside of my practice, I enjoy spending time with my family, teaching, and being outdoors. I value lifelong learning, meaningful connections, and finding balance in everyday life.

My approach to therapy

My approach is client-centered and recognizes that medication is one part of your overall mental health journey. I work closely with you to understand your symptoms, treatment history, and personal goals to identify medication options that best fit your needs. Finding the right medication and dosage can take time, and I am committed to carefully monitoring your response, addressing side effects, and making adjustments along the way to achieve the best possible outcomes.

I incorporate principles of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and attachment theory to better understand how thought patterns, relationships, and life experiences influence mental health. My background in adult primary care, substance use disorder treatment, and women's health brings a whole-person perspective to psychiatric care. Above all, I believe in working together, respecting your preferences, and empowering you to be an active advocate in your treatment and well-being.

What you can expect from me

Our first appointment is an opportunity for us to get to know one another and understand your concerns, mental health history, current symptoms, and treatment goals. We will discuss relevant medical history, previous treatments, and options that may best meet your needs.

Together, we will develop a personalized plan and determine next steps. You do not need to have all the answers or solve everything in one visit. My goal is for you to feel heard, supported, and empowered as we navigate your mental health journey—one step at a time.
