Great to meet you!

Hi, I'm Stefanie — a licensed clinical social worker, a therapist, and a mom. I've spent over 20 years working in the mental health field, and what has kept me in this work is a genuine belief that people can change, grow, and build lives that feel meaningful and connected.

Over the course of my career, I've had the privilege of working with a wide range of people — children, older adults, individuals with cognitive limitations, and parents navigating their own mental health challenges. Today, I work primarily with adults, and my focus is simple: helping you create a life you can enjoy, feel connected in, and feel like you truly matter.

Clinically, I have experience with mood disorders, anxiety, eating disorders, psychotic disorders, and substance use. I was formally trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy through the Beck Institute, which gives me a strong foundation in practical, evidence-based approaches. More recently, I've been deepening my training in trauma-focused models and I'm interested in Internal Family Systems (IFS) and EMDR — because I believe that for many people, healing means going beyond coping skills and understanding the deeper roots of their experience.

I welcome working with a variety of people and bring the same care and curiosity to every person I sit with. If you're looking for a therapist who will meet you where you are and take your growth seriously — I'd love to connect.

My approach to therapy

My approach is collaborative and grounded in the belief that you are the expert on your own life — my job is to help you access that wisdom and build on it. I draw primarily from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), which helps us identify patterns in thinking and behavior that may be keeping you stuck. I'm also trained in EMDR, which I integrate when the work calls for a deeper exploration of trauma or the different parts of yourself that may be in conflict.

I tailor my approach to the person in front of me. Whether you're managing anxiety, navigating a mood disorder, healing from trauma, or simply trying to feel more like yourself, I meet you where you are and adjust as your needs evolve. I bring warmth and directness to the room — and a deep respect for the courage it takes to show up and do this work.

What you can expect from me

The first session is really about getting to know each other. I'll ask questions to understand what's bringing you in, what your life looks like, and what you're hoping therapy can help you with. There's no pressure to have it all figured out — many people come in knowing something isn't working but not yet knowing exactly what they need, and that's completely okay.

My goal in that first meeting is for you to leave feeling heard and with a sense of whether we're a good fit. I create a space that is warm, nonjudgmental, and honest — where you can speak freely without worrying about being assessed or judged. By the end of our first session, we'll usually have a beginning sense of direction together, even if the full picture takes a little more time to develop.
