Great to meet you!

I am an Advanced Practice Nurse with over 13 yrs of experience, dually certified as an Adult Nurse Practitioner and a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner who relocated to the Southwest from Chicago, Illinois.

Born and raised in the Midwest, I attended the University of Iowa and obtained a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. After working in social services with individuals with developmental disabilities for several years in various capacities from direct care work, to case management to Program Administration, I pursued my life-long dream of becoming a nurse. I attended the University of Illinois- Chicago and obtained 2 nursing degrees.

Working in various settings from the ICU, to geriatric units, to psychiatric and detox units in the hospital, in long term and skilled care facilities, PHP/IOP, and in a maximum security prison, has allowed me to bring a unique perspective to outpatient mental health services.

One of the most profound experiences in my career was working with the Deaf community and granted me the opportunity to learn ASL and Signed English and also to be immersed in that culture.

My philosophy is to treat the whole patient; body, mind and spirit and to utilize a combination of holistic and conventional strategies to achieve this goal.

Since moving to Arizona, I enjoy spending as much time outside as possible. I love to go hiking, kayaking, swimming and exploring the beautiful desert landscape. Music is very important to me and I love listening to live music and going to concerts.

My approach to therapy

I listen. In all of my years of working with people from all different backgrounds and in many different venues, the one thing I have heard consistently after sessions is "I feel heard". We work together on your treatment plan, as we are partners in this journey.

What you can expect from me

A treatment plan that we have developed together. Feeling heard and supported. Honesty. I have been doing this for a long time, and realize that my approach might not be the best "fit" for everyone, and that is okay!
