Great to meet you!

Hi, I’m Stephanie! I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor in Texas and have been working with children, teens, and young adults since 2013. I specialize in helping pre-teens and teens who feel overwhelmed by big emotions, anxiety, mood changes, or life transitions.

My style is warm, practical, and down-to-earth—I believe therapy should feel supportive, not intimidating.

I have specialized training in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and extensive experience working with emotion regulation, anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, and major life changes.

I also have a strong background supporting teens as they transition from higher levels of care (PHP/IOP) back into school and everyday life, helping them rebuild confidence, structure, and coping skills during this important step-down phase.

I focus on teaching skills that are realistic and actually usable in daily life...especially for school, friendships, and family stress. My goal is to create a space where clients feel understood, respected, and empowered, while working together to build tools that help them feel more confident and in control.

My approach to therapy

Therapy is a partnership. I’ll bring in tools from CBT and DBT, but we’ll tailor them to fit you. My goal is to help you feel supported while building skills to manage stress, handle emotions, and improve the relationships that matter most to you.

What you can expect from me

In the first session, my goal is to help clients feel comfortable, safe, and understood. We’ll spend time getting to know each other, talking about what’s been going on, and discussing what you’d like help with. There’s no pressure to share everything right away...therapy moves at a pace that feels right for you.

For teens, I focus on building rapport and explaining what therapy looks like, what confidentiality means, and how this space is meant to support them. We’ll also begin identifying strengths and discussing a few initial coping tools, so sessions feel helpful from the start.

By the end of the first session, most clients have a clearer idea of what therapy will look like moving forward and feel more at ease about the process.
