Great to meet you!

My name is Stephanie Freitas and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor. I have over 10 years experience working in the field of mental health, and have been doing individual counseling for at least 7 years. Typically my main areas of focus are, life transitions, women's issues, multicultural/ethnic concerns, and collegiate mental health.

A bit about my approach to therapy

I utilize an eclectic approach from various approaches, however, my therapy sessions are typically solutions oriented and incorporate CBT techniques. I promote stigma free therapy and provide a safe space for clients to process complex emotions. I also believe therapy should be real and relatable, and thus I work collaboratively with clients to identify skills and tools that are helpful to them in real time.

What you can expect from our first session

After our initial session we will have identified goals to your therapy and different options and strategies to achieve those goals. As therapy progresses, we will continue to incorporate skills and tools not only in the therapy room but in "the real world." Throughout sessions, we continuously assess what is working and what is not working so you have an individualized and unique therapy approach designed for you.
